From the BrusselsOmmegang

Every year, the Ommegang event reveals unsuspected details about the history of Brussels.

This impressive procession illustrates several aspects of our national folklore and captivates spectators with a sort of visual magic as well as numerous presentations.

Some 1,400 participants in dazzling costumes evoke the presentation of Charles V and his son, the Infante Philip (future Philip II), in the capital of the Low Countries.
