SUMMARY:The Crossbow Shooting Competition
DESCRIPTION:This will be organised with the ancient Grand Serment Royal et Noble des Arbalétriers de Notre-Dame du Sablon (the order of The Grand and Noble Oath of the Crossbowmen Notre-Dame de Sablon) and the crossbowmen of the Grand Serment Royal et de Saint Georges (the order of The Grand Royal Oath and of Saint George).  Following the tradition\, the winner will enter the Grand-Place during the Ommegang parade with the golden arrow!  After Charles V’s exit from the Church of Notre Dame au Sablon\, the Oaths will recreate the historical procession which is the origin of the Ommegang. \n7.20 pm: The orders of the two Crossbowmen’s Oaths get in place and march towards the esplanade of the Church of Notre Dame au Sablon \n7.30 pm: Crossbow shooting competition with presentation of the Golden Arrow in front of the esplanade.

DESCRIPTION:The Ommegang pre-cortege will leave the Parc Royal at 8.45 pm\, passing through Place des Palais\, Rue Royale\, Place Royale\, Rue de la Régence and Rue Bodenbroek to join the crossbowmen\, archers\, harquebusiers and fencers in the Sablon. \nAt 8.25 pm\, the arrival of Charles V and the Infante\, followed by the re-enactment of the historical procession\, which will leave the Sablon at 8.55 pm and pass through the following streets: Rue Lebeau\, Place de la Justice\, Rue de l’Hôpital\, Place Saint-Jean\, Rue Duquesnoy\, Rue Infanta Isabelle\, Rue Marché aux Herbes\, Rue du Marché aux Poulets\, Boulevard Anspach\, Plattesteen\, Rue du Lombard\, Rue du Midi\, Rue des Moineaux\, Rue de l’Etuve\, Rue Charles Buls\, ending in the Brussels Grand-Place. \nDuring the procession\, the Brewers’ Giant will emerge from the Brasserie of the Ommegang on Rue de la Montagne 4\, and be placed on the barrel of the Ommegang beer float. \nRemember\, Charles V was a great lover of beer!
